Focusing Your Energy with Intentions

by Molly on October 12, 2009

By now we’ve all heard about how important intentions can be in affecting an outcome.  But most people don’t take the time to focus their energy in this powerful way and that’s such a shame.  Being intentional about your business and your life is one of the easiest ways to get more of what you want.

Intentions can help you capture the essence of what you are wanting to create.  Every single morning before my feet hit the floor, I take the time to plan my day in my mind.  I’m very specific about how I want to feel and what I want to get done.

When I have a goal or  a project, or a meeting with a potential client, I sit down and write out my intention for the outcome of the particular thing I’m working on.  I’m so committed to using intentions to focus my energy and tap into that delicious vibrational state of positive energy that I’ve even created my very own intention worksheet.  I have a big spiral bound stack of blank worksheets so they are right at my fingertips anytime I need them.

These intention worksheets have been a powerful tool for me in my business.  When I look back through the intentions I’ve set, it continues to amaze me how closely my real life experience mirrors the words I had written down on the page.  But I’ve learned not to be too, too specific.  I don’t want to limit the Universe’s ability to bring me my goals and dreams in a variety of wonderful ways.

In March of 2009, I was going on a cruise.  Before I left home I filled out my worksheet intending to have an exhilarating trip full of excitement, wonder and positive energy.  I let the Universe do its job in bringing to me the experiences to match the underlying feelings that I intended.  And boy did it ever.  I was the lucky recipient of winning a beautiful multi-colored sapphire ring – very exciting.  And I was absolutely exhilarated at the largest school of dolphins I’ve ever seen or heard of – hundreds at one time – if not thousands all jumping and frolicking towards our cruise ship.  I was blown away.  I could have never dreamt up these specific outcomes but my focused energy on the underlying essence of these things sure paid off!

So why don’t you create your own habit with Intentions?  Hey – it’s free and it works.  So get busy focusing your energy on what you want – and create those intentions for yourself.  You’ll be glad you did!

Hello Molly! March Stahl just forwarded your newsletter to me and I wanted to introduce myself. She said you were so much like the life coach we both have. Heather Dominick. Also noticed you were going to Hocking Hills and that is one location we climb.

Just wanted to let you know I get your message!! I love setting intentions and your blog post was a great reminder!
