Developing Your Intuition

by Molly on June 25, 2010

Rachel is a fabulous client of mine.  She’s smart, really funny and incredibly spiritually awake.  I just love working with her – she really is my ideal client.  We do a lot of cool things together – from energy releasing work to creating her business strategy, our time together is always powerful and creates incredible forward movement for her.

And while Rachel herself would say that she is indeed very spiritually awake, she does not consider herself “intuitive.”  For many spiritual travelers, intuition is one their strongest tools and many consider it their #1 asset.  I know I do!  So early in our relationship, when I would ask Rachel what her intuition said about a particular topic, she would get a blank look on her face and say things like “I don’t know, I’m not intuitive.”  My response to her, “Not true, my friend.  You ARE intuitive, you just haven’t really embraced it or actively worked on it yet.”

And so started Rachel’s journey to activate her inborn sixth sense.  And yours can begin today!  If you, like Rachel, don’t consider yourself particularly intuitive, know that it is a sense that you already have – and like working a muscle – over time – it gets stronger and stronger providing you with endless insight, information and guidance.  And all of this makes life flow so much easier.

Here’s an interesting tidbit.  Did you know that only 20 or 30% of our communication with one another is verbal?  WOW!?!  What’ the rest?  Well body language certainly plays into it but also something that you may not have ever really considered before – vibrational communication – aka reading each other intuitively!

I hope you choose to embrace this gift.  I cannot tell you how it helps me several times every single day!  I listen to my intuition now without fail – even if my intuitive hit on a particular subject doesn’t seem to make sense at the time.  There are times when the intuitive guidance you receive does not make sense until a later time.

I’d like to share with you some ideas for developing your intuition starting today.  First – you must adopt the idea that we ALL are born with a natural intuitive gift – it is not deemed for a special group of people – and since you are alive, this means YOU.  YOU have natural intuitive ability!  So adopt that belief for yourself right here and now – YOU ARE INTUITIVE!

Next, if you’re like most people, you’ve had at least a few instances of intuitive guidance and now is the time to dig for those experiences.  It’s important to recognize, own and anchor them so that you can remind yourself that again YOU ARE INTUTIVE by nature.

Here’s some food for thought.  Have you ever met someone who said all the right things – but you just didn’t like them?  Like they had “bad vibes” or something?  That’s an intuitive hit!  You were reading them with your intuition.

Or what about a time when the phone rang and you knew who was calling even before you picked up the phone?  Intuition at work!  And how about that time when you felt resistance to entering into a new venture but you didn’t listen and did it anyway?  And then later you found that the new venture was a stress fest.  Your intuition was right on!

You need to start to consciously work your intuition muscle by accessing it frequently.  I recommend that you keep an “Intuition Journal” to record and track your intuitive hits.  That way you have a running tab of how accurate your intuition really is.  This can help you to learn to rely on it, without even having to think about it, question it – or go against it.

So the next time you meet someone new – consciously tune into what that small still voice, or “knowing” inside is telling you about the person. Write it down in your journal and then record your observations about this person and your intuitive hit, over time.

You’ll start to see that your intuition is available to you at all times – and is very accurate!  But beware – an accurate intuitive read is next to impossible when you are in negative energy like fear.  I always tell my clients – “When you are in fear, you cannot hear” meaning you can’t hear your intuition when your predominant energy is fearful or negative.

So you see, intuition is not some out-there concept available to the lucky few.  It’s one of your senses – and it’s up to you to develop it!

I have used my intuition, but sometimes I GET IT CONFUSED….first thought or second thought? when it comes to making chioces for me. I READ OTHERS INSTANTLY MOST OF THE TIME ,BUT MAKING PERSONAL CHOICES FOR MY DIRECTION IS LACKING.. I THINK IT HELPS TO HAVE SOME ONE HELP ME TO SEE MY ABILITIES MORE CLEARLY,PROBLEM IS I HAVE A FEW INTERESTS, I’M OLDER AND LIMITED FUNDS TO TAKE MORE THAN ONE. WHERE DO I MAKE THE BEST USE OF THESE THINGS.?
HOW CAN I IMPROVE ON THIS AND CLARIFY A PATH FOR ME . MORE STRUCTURED?

THANKS DIANNA
